Giveaway: Zinio Magazine Subscriptions

Remember my blatant suck-upping to e-magazine superstore Zinio in yesterday’s post about their Give a Little, Get a Lot sweepstakes?

Well, that was a lead-in to my announcement that Zinio has given me ten–yes, ten–magazine subscriptions to give away to you, my dear, sweet, dedicated readers, who would never abandon me just for advertising an Internet newsstand to you.

I’m going to keep one for myself, obvs, and maybe give one to Kamran if he’s nice, and then I’ll offer four to the people who commented on yesterday’s post as a reward for their not judging me. So that leaves me a good four or five still to give away!

How to Enter

• Leave me a comment. Tell me which magazine you’d want if you won, how great yesterday’s post was, how deserving I am of things from companies to give away, whatever you want.

I’ll let random.org pick the numbers for me on Thursday at 5 p.m.!

Giveaway: Nature’s Muse Soap and Lip Balm

A couple of weeks ago, my friend Kimz asked me for help finding an inexpensive alternative to her beloved LUSH scrub soap. As an expert Googler and dedicated Etsy customer, I immediately set to work for her on both and came up with a soap from Nature’s Muse that intrigued me so much I had to buy a bar for myself.

It arrived packaged in a bag cute enough to be given as a gift as-is, and of course I loved the smell. I have to admit that I was pretty skeptical, though. It looked like a regular bar of soap with a few seeds mixed in, and I didn’t see how it was possibly going to replace my regular body scrub. When I took it to the shower, though, something happened. Within seconds, the slick outside layer of soap washed away and revealed that the rest of the soap is CRAZY SCRUBBY. It was both relaxing and invigorating, like getting a massage from a sheet of sandpaper. My skin has never felt softer, more moisturized than it does after using this. Plus, it’s a bigger-than-normal bar, and it’s appropriate for dudes who don’t like girly soaps.

I also went ahead and ordered myself a lip balm, because I’ve always loved beeswax balms, and I love the idea of the biodegradable tube. It glides on like butter, stays weightless, and keeps my lips moisturized for hours (really). Now I’m dying to try all of the flavors, from mojito to peppermint to chai latte.

And here’s the giveaway part:

Kathy from Nature’s Muse has been kind enough to offer the same soap and lip gloss combo I bought to one of my stinking, chapped readers! I’m so excited about this and so happy one of you gets to try these amazing (seriously, amazing) products; I’m pretty sure I’m a scrub-soap-lover for life.

How to Enter:

1) Leave me a comment. Tell me your favourite product from the Nature’s Muse store (chai latte soap, anyone?) or compliment my glowing skin or whatever you want. Make sure you fill out the field in the comment form with your e-mail address so I can write to you when you win.

2) Like my Unapologetically Mundane Facebook page for an extra entry. Just comment separately and let me know you’ve Liked it. If you’ve Liked it previously like a good blogfriend, you can still get the extra entry if you leave a comment telling me so.

3) Tweet about my giveaway on Twitter for yet another extra entry. Just include my Twitter handle, @ettible, and say whatever else you like. Leave a separate comment to let me know you’re a follower.

Have I mentioned that the comments all need to be separate? It’s so you’ll have a better chance to win. More entries = more chances.

I’ll let random.org choose a number for me on Monday. Good luck!

UPDATE: random.org chose #26, which turned out to be my longtime blogfriend caropal! Congratulations to her, and thanks to all of you for entering.

Stuff I Like

I read an article about the ubiquitous Tory Burch a couple of weeks ago that basically claimed her husband rescued her from being a no-name PR girl, gave her her company, and then decided he wanted an exact replica of that company for himself. Only instead of selling things “two-yacht housewife” can afford like Tory does, he wants to sell to every woman.

I am that every woman, and I love his store, C. Wonder. Here’s a sampling of what you can buy at the NYC location (which looks like it was designed by Willy Wonka) and online:

The thing that really knocked my socks off was that when you order something from C. Wonder (like the slow-cooker, which I got on sale for, like, $11), your receipt comes in this packaging:

Love x 1000.

See my friend Ash’s review for more on the store!

In other news, random.org chose a number for me, and it was:

You’ve already seen me brag about the gorgeous custom piece Liesi of Too Crewel made for me recently. Well, since I started reading her blog months ago, I’ve been eyeing a certain item in her Etsy store.

And today, Liesi and I are giving it away to you! (I know. I can’t believe how unselfish I am, either.)

Adorable, right? I can basically see it fitting into any decor, anywhere. And since it has the U.S. map embroidered on it, people will stop referring to you as “that yellow-bellied commie bastard” and started referring to you as “the greatest American hero”.

How to Enter:

1) Leave me a comment. Tell me about the other pillows you own or what position you sleep in at night or whatever you want.

I’ll let random.org choose a number for me next Friday. Good luck!

The winner of my Geeky & Chic LEGO necklace and ring set is . . .

DAYNA!

She’s my best friend’s former college roommate of four years, a Circleville Pumpkin Show goer of eleven years, and most perfectly, an art museum educator! So she’s funky as all get-out, and I couldn’t be happier for her. Even though I’m sad for the rest of you.

Congratulations, Dayna!
