On the Farm in My Print Store

Two new photos up in my Society6 print store!

This was a shot I took in one of my dad’s fields after shelling corn with him for a couple of hours and being attacked by two spiders in the combine. The country is awful. But pretty!

I couldn’t decide which I liked better, so I made one in brown:

Empty Field

And one in blue:

Empty Field

There’s free worldwide shipping through Sunday, so buy early and often! I also made these available as laptop skins and iPhone cases, which I think look pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

(Don’t think my blog is going to be all about promoting my jazz from now on, just mostly.)

I think the first one would look better with zombies in it. Could you Photoshop some in? I tried it with Paint, and it didn’t come out too great: http://imgur.com/vJgj0

You should make one RED LIKE FIRE.

    Or, like a sunset.

  3. The second one is definitely my favorite of the two, but you already know how much I admire your gorgeous blue skies.

I hereby formally request a tutorial on how to photograph perfect skies. In exchange, I will figure out how to send you a copy of my “Teefs” Photoshop action.

That first one looks post-apocalyptic. And I like it!

I agree with everyone, the brown one looks a bit eerie which I love. Cool shot!

Did you see the documentary King Corn? If not, you totally should. I see silos in your photography future. And lots & lots of corn fields. Totally looking forward to your big pumpkinfest weekend! (Not as much as you are though, I’m sure!!)

  7. NICE! I really like both, U.M. And, while I really dig the warm tones in both pieces, I particularly like the brown. It almost reminds me of a stained paper… or suggests dust and/or ‘age’ to me. And (taken with the fact the corn is gone) it almost makes me think 1930’s… which is probably nothing like what you were going for, but I’m weird like that.
