Since Kamran spends all day sending me photos from the Aww subsection of Reddit, I decided to take some of my own puppy pictures while we were out walking this weekend.
Bulldogs (especially French bulldogs) are my absolute favourites, so we followed this waddling little fella for a few blocks before he stopped for a rest and I had a chance to ask him to pose. I swear his owners said he was named Rudy, but when I repeated that, they said, “No, Fruity.” But Kamran says they actually said Ruby. So maybe he is a she. I’m calling him or her a combination of all three names: Fruby.
We met Kodak outside of our grocery store on the way home, and though he looks adorable, Kodak was viciously barking at my camera like crazy, so I didn’t get a chance to talk to his owners much. He’s a Japanese dog, right? Maybe a Japanese Spitz?

j/k, there aren’t any more. I’m sorry I tricked you. But please go Like it anyway, thx.

OMG. This totally made my morning. WANT.
This is what I saw when I looked at the pictures: http://imgur.com/a/dqj1W
Are you sure that’s a frenchie?
Nope, it’s just a “regular”. Maybe I should set the especially French bulldogs in parentheses instead to show that I’m just rambling about myself, not the dog.
Oooohkay. Then I totally agree. I love THIS puppy and want to pick it up and play with it immediately and also I love french bulldogs.
I’ve really been wanting to take pictures of pets for a while now, and when we were out a couple of weekends ago, we came across this French bulldog on a bench whose owner wasn’t paying a bit of attention to it, and when I looked at it, I swear it smiled at me. Even Kamran saw it! But I was too shy to ask for a picture.
OK, so I typically see a little yippy dog and I want to punt it.
These? CUTE. Well, the first one. The other one I think I’d still like to punt.
The thing is–I think he would enjoy the punting and keep that doofy look on his face.
Did you notice the captions my roommate did above? I told him you’re the caption queen, so he’s named himself Captain Caption to compete with you.
Well, I named him that. I’d give him credit, but I want you to know how clever I am.
I totally would have put:
Photo 1: “If you look up my nose, you can see my brain. It’s really small.”
Photo 2: “Little do you know, I just took a dump on your bed.”
You totally won me over – those dogs are adorable (and the color on the photos looks fantastic). I need you to come photograph Leela and Bonnie now. Maybe one day I’ll be able to entice you down to Louisiana.
Are you kidding? We can’t even entice her to Pittsburgh!
Oh no worries, Jess. I told her that we’d fly together, drink drive thru daiquiris together and eat all the food.
Your pictures of them are already amazing, but I would looooooove to. They’re such pretty dogs and wildly photogenic.
Can you just bring the dogs AND Sarah on the plane to Pittsburgh? That would really take care of a lot of logistical issues. For me. They’d all to your issues. But still.
I think Fruby is a great name for a bulldog, no matter what she’s actually named.
I totally came to Pittsburgh! Cassie and I just didn’t have the sense to tell you, for some reason. Guess I’ll let Jessica test drive you, ifyouknowwhatImean.
My friend Emily of From Beaks to Barks says Kodak is probably a Miniature American Eskimo!
You KNOW how I feel about dogs, but they look so bright and shiny and pristine in these pictures that I’m imagining them as unsmelly and without saliva.
And that makes me happy. Bravo.
Those dogs are so photogenic!
Fruby sounds like what I would call my cats as a combo name, since they’re Fubu and Ruby. :P Maybe you were subconsciously thinking of them.
I love how ‘Fruby’ looks like he’s wearing badly applied lipstick. Actually, it’s not that bad! Great pics.
FRUBY! So cute!! I love bulldogs also (despite their never-ending health issues). My brother has one and he’s the fattest, dumbest bag of love around.
I like naming animals after food, so fruity gets my vote.
Kiwi says she likes it too, as does our old cat Milkshake.
For somebody who doesn’t like dogs, you sure do take a mean dog picture, lady.
(French bulldogs are my favorite, too.)
French pets.
So touchy about enunciation.
