Padded Seats and Warmed Hearts

Filed under all of my friends are prettier than i am, fun times on the subway, just pictures

Jack, Nik, and me as photographed by Kamran on the Long Island Rail Road (or Railroad, in my opinion) on the way to our friend Anthony’s house two weekends ago with our friends Eric and Christine for cheeses, habanero vodka, and fun times in the schoolyard pretending to be cast members from The Breakfast Club:

I’m not sure I remember the scene where Anthony Michael Hall gets a titty-twister from Judd Nelson, but I’m sure it happened.

  1. Hahaha…
I bet that scene shows up on the collectors edition…
    :)

  2. Christine says:

YAY, I’ve made it. I’m famous! Does this mean I’m the weird goth girl from the movie, and you’re Molly Ringwald?

    • Christine says:

Also, I love the black bar over my face. It looks like I’m in the witness protection program and you’re trying to protect my identity.

    • I kind of thought we’d share the part of the goth girl, a la Mary Kate and Ashley in “Full House”.

I know I’ll never be a professional photographer because of gaffs like that facebar one. Grr!

Wow, those photos make you guys look like you’re all in a band together. Like the crazy orange light.

It was probably during the pot scene they always edit out on TV. (When I was younger, I never understood why they suddenly became BFFs because I had only seen the TV version. True story.)

    • Wow, yeah, movies on TV are so different for kids now. Ever since that dude bared his butt in “NYPD Blue”, it seems like it’s been nothing but nudity, cursing, and smoking. Although, wait, even a couple of years ago, we were still banning the “Degrassi” episode where Manny gets an abortion. Hmph.

I’m a little upset that you actually hyper linked The Breakfast Club… Anyone who doesn’t know, shouldn’t be reading this blog.

    • Okay, on one hand, I absolutely agree with you. The embarrassing thing is that I really expect that people will still be visiting this blog 20 years down the road and am concerned “TBC” will be too dated by then. Is that narcissistic?

I love the first two photos esp. though all of them are great. This brings back such great memories of summer outings in my early 20s.. man, that seems SO LONG AGO. You are so pretty Katie, the first pic is adorable.

    • Haha, I like the first two best, too, but then thought, “Oh, yeah, I guess I should include some shots of the dude who fed and took care of us that night.” I want to hear these early-20s-outing-memories!

      And thank you!

  7. “Titty twister.”

That, alone, totally made my day.

I probably just gave you some appalling insight into my psyche, didn’t I? Sorry.
