If You Don’t Have Anything Nice to Say, Post Some Pictures

Filed under just pictures, living in new york is neat

I don’t feel like myself this week. My laptop completely crapped out on me yesterday–I think because I had added my 50th saved tab to the completely brilliant Firefox add-on TooManyTabs–and even though all of my stuff is on an external drive that I could so easily hook up to another laptop, it just feels all wrong.

So instead of a real post, some pictures:

Really? “Home of the Famous Hot Water”?

(I’m pretty sure the building next to it says “Temperature Control Valve”, and it’s not like that’s much better, but I like to think it’s just a place that really values its ability to heat water.)

I wonder where the home of the famous cold water is.

    • Basically every crappy NYC apartment?

I’ve actually had great luck with apartments here, but booooooy, the stories you hear. Apparently turning off the hot water is very popular with landlords who want to force out rent-controlled tenants.

Looks like hot water may be all that building has going for it. Good thing it’s advertising.

    • I had to go back and look at the picture again for your comment to make sense. And then I had to really look at it. Because every building here looks like that! I guess I’m used to it.

Well, I guess they have to be good at something, though I’d pick something besides the ability to boil water. Even I can do that. :)

  4. I can totally identify with that feeling.

I always enjoy your picture posts, though.
