How to Water Plants in NYC

Filed under living in new york is neat

You should’ve seen the look this guy gave me when he saw me taking a picture of him.

People in some foreign countries don’t have any water at all, and we spray ours all over the sidewalk. I find it kind of sad and kind of awesome.

(Mostly awesome.)

Does the truck at least stop? Or does it just roll by shooting water on plants and mammals that aren’t quick enough to get out of the way?

Amazing! I’ve never seen anything like this.

I like that this method not only uses up water, but fossil fuels!

Geesh. I’d protest, but it makes me think about something Tom and I were discussing the other day. I watched the landscaping crew working on the little strips of land in the parking lot of his work when dropping him off, and I asked outloud why they needed to do that so often. I mean, it’s a darn PARKING LOT, but his reply made me stop and think. He said, “Look at how many people have jobs because of it.” There are so many things that seem really stupid, but like the ridiculous landscaping projects, their only purpose is to get somebody a paycheck. Interesting.

I disagree about it being awesome.
    I think it’s mostly lazy.
