I feel like the John Mayers of the world fall into the latter category. I haven't been keeping up with Damien Jurado, although I like the song you posted, so I'll have to check out the newest stuff. My favorite album of his is Rehearsals For Departure, and now I REALLY want to listen to it, augh!
