Ok, hilarious bit on the Daily Show -- thanks for sharing because I hadn't actually seen it yet.

I love the painting -- yes, it's reminiscent of The Scream in certain ways, but it reminded me of this painting I saw at The Louvre because I too was wondering what messed up person painted something so gory. I don't know if everyone will be able to see the photo in this link, but I'm giving it a try:

I wasn't familiar with underwater art photography until I met a local photographic artist named Jennifer Robison, who shot an underwater series she calls "Emerge."

http://www.jrobison.com/index2.php?v=v1

And now, of course, I think it's the coolest thing I've ever seen. I love that one of the girl on the wee carousel horse.

(I often feel like she looks.)

How awesome is that skeleton painting?! You and Kamran SO need a print of that for your new apartment.

How messed up do you need to be today to be noticed in the future as that, or have we reached a certain craziness saturation, I mean, you can only go so far with minimalism, anyway, I for one am glad messed up is fairly commonplace, built upon the foreskeletons of our past.
